DORIS ROBERTS, SUE JOHENNING, ELLEN K,
ANDREA STOLTZMAN AND ROBIN BERTOLUCCI HONORED BY
AMERICAN WOMEN IN RADIO AND TELEVISION –
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAPTER AT
THE 51ST ANNUAL GENII AWARDS ON JUNE 13, 2007.

Cristy Trembly of CBS Television City Will Receive the Chapter’s
Tracey Miller Merit Award

Burbank, California – The Southern California Chapter of the American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT SoCal) will honor Doris Roberts, Sue Johenning, Ellen K, Andrea Stoltzman and Robin Bertolucci for their extraordinary contributions to radio and television broadcasting in Southern California at the organization’s annual Genii Awards in Los Angeles. Cristy Trembly will receive the Tracey Miller Merit Award for outstanding chapter member. Held on June 13, 2007, at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, California, this awards dinner event is a major fundraising initiative that benefits the organization's ongoing efforts to educate, advocate, and provide resources for women in the entertainment industry here in Southern California.

“It is truly an honor to recognize the strength and talent of these incredible women. Through their self-determination, passion and leadership, they have created a better environment in our broadcasting industry and community,” said LaFern Watkins, President AWRT SoCal.

After nine years as Marie Barone on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” which brought her international accolades as the most popular comedic actress in television, Doris Roberts, will receive this year’s Genii Award for Lifetime Achievement. With an illustrious career of achievement in theatre, films and television that has earned her distinctive stature throughout the entire entertainment profession, Doris Roberts in 2001 was selected by the prestigious American Film Institute as one of five actresses of the year. She went on to receive her fourth Emmy Award, Television’s preeminent recognition of artistry, three in a row for her role as the beloved, but meddle some, mother on the popular CBS series "Everybody Loves Raymond” and an earlier Emmy for “St. Elsewhere,” among nominations for both dramatic and comedic work on “Remington Steele,” “Full House” and “The Sunset Gang.”

Sue Johenning – Executive Vice President, Director, Local Broadcast, Initiative Media will receive this year’s Excellence in Advertising Genii Award. Sue directs one of the largest spot purchasing operations in the United States, managing an extensive network of buying offices and a team of nearly 200 media professionals. Her dynamic approach to media management consistently results in uniquely tailored, streamlined, effective business solutions for a wide array of Initiative clients. Initiative’s local broadcast department serves a wide array of clients, including BellSouth, Carl’s Jr./Hardees, Macy’s and The Home Depot, among others.

Ellen K, Radio Personality, KIIS-FM will accept the Excellence in Radio- On-Air Genii Award. She enjoys her mornings with Ryan Seacrest on the wildly popular and #1 rated KIIS-FM morning program. Her relaxed and easy manner in front of a camera and behind a microphone landed her many assignments. She co- hosted with Wayne Brady on his Emmy award winning talk show and worked as a correspondent for the popular entertainment news show, Extra. Ellen has also served as a music and entertainment expert for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles, and acted as correspondent for the syndicated program, Real TV.

Excellence in Broadcast Management Genii Award will be presented to Andrea Stoltzman, Vice President of Sales for CBS2 Los Angeles. One of Southern California’s best known and most respected media sales professionals, Stoltzman oversees the stations multi-million dollar local and national sales effort, and supervises a 25 person staff of Account Executives, Traffic, and support structure. Under her leadership, CBS2 has achieved double-digit annual revenue increases in every year of her tenure. While achieving historic annual profits, the station has become one of the LA markets revenue share leaders.

Robin Bertolucci, Programming Director, KFI-AM 640 will receive the Excellence in Radio Genii Award for Programming. Coming to Los Angeles' powerhouse talk station in 2002, Robin has taken this already highly rated and respected station to new heights. With her aggressive hands-on approach, Robin worked side-by-side with all the department heads retooling everything from the Imaging, to the Marketing, to the formatics. In addition to KFI's stellar ratings, with Robin at the helm, KFI also received Radio & Records News/Talk Station of the Year, 2004 and 2007.

AWRT SoCal will present the Tracey Miller Merit Award to Cristy Trembly, Technical Manager, CBS Television City. In honor of Tracey Miller, an award-winning and groundbreaking Los Angeles broadcast journalist who was an active and cherished AWRT SoCal member, this award honors an AWRT SoCal member who has shown an outstanding commitment to AWRT, the chapter, and who has made positive contributions to the industry. Trembly has been a member of American Women in Radio and Television for 28 years, and served as a Western Area District Director and former chapter President, receiving the 2000 Merit Award for Lifetime. Cristy worked with Jordan’s Queen Noor on international women’s projects in AWRT and presented her with an AWRT Humanitarian Service Award in 1998.

For 50 years, AWRT’s Southern California chapter has presented its highest honor in the name of the Chapter Founder, Jeanne “Genii” Gray McDonald. This special honor celebrates the notable achievements of excellence executed by individuals in radio and television broadcasting in Southern California. The recipients of this prestigious honor are being saluted for their significant contributions to the industry aligned with the mission of the organization to promote progress and create change within the electronic media.
