Loreen Arbus , President of Loreen Arbus Productions, Inc., is the first woman in the United States ever to head up programming for a national network, a feat accomplished twice (both Showtime and Cable Health Network/Lifetime). She possesses an extensive, multifaceted history in the entertainment industry -- with a solid track record as an executive in network television, pay and basic cable, syndication and the print media; as a consultant to a pay-per-view network, several established and new cable networks; as a writer and as a producer.

For 5 years, Arbus rose through the executive ranks at ABC -- from Story Analyst to Program Executive, to Executive Producer of Variety Specials, Movies, Late Night and Early Morning Programming. After her tenure at ABC, she served as Vice President of Original Programming for Showtime where she initiated the first movie-made-for-pay; the first scripted comedy series and cable’s first co-production(s). In 1982, as Senior Vice President in charge of program development, production, acquisition, scheduling and on-air promotion for Cable Health Network/Lifetime, she helped launch the 24 hour network -- within just 3 months, she put into development, gave production commitments and negotiated all deals for 1671 half hours of programming (424 acquisitions and 17 original series.) Subsequently, she supervised program development/production for Viacom's network and first-run syndication divisions.

In 1989, Arbus started her own company and became an independent producer. LAP focuses on non-fiction programming for network, cable, syndication and has recently been contracted to create and produce programs for the internet.

Executive Producer credits include: FORGIVE OR FORGET (syndicated by 20 th Century Fox); CASE CLOSED (series – USA); IN THE NAME OF LOVE (series in association with Bristol Myers Squibb Company - Lifetime); AMAZING LOVE STORIES (syndication); TODAY'S MOVERS AND SHAKERS (series in association with Proctor and Gamble -syndication); Emmy nominated CRIMES OF PASSION I and II (ABC); SCANDALS (pilot-syndication); SCANDALS I and II (ABC); MORRIS THE CAT PRESENTS: A SALUTE TO AMERICA'S PETS (fully sponsored by Heinz-ABC); POWER AND FEAR: THE HOLLYWOOD GREY LIST (documentary); UNA NOCHE DE TANGO ARGENTINO y FLAMENCO (theater/syndication); TWO TO TANGO (theater); RITMO TANGO Ô (theater).

Arbus, a member of the Writers Guild, Authors Guild, SAG, and AFTRA, is a prolific writer of episodic scripts and (6) books. Additionally, she has been a contributing editor to LOS ANGELES and LIFE magazines, freelances for numerous other publications and has been syndicated in over 200 newspapers by the Copley News Service.

Arbus is on the Boards of: The Museum of Television & Radio (trustee); The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation; The Producers Guild of America; Women of Washington/Los Angeles; United Cerebral Palsy; Harvard Medical School Committee for Campaign Resources; Harvard Medical School Advisory Committee for Neurobiology; John F. Kennedy School of Government Women’s Leadership Board; Israel Cancer Research Fund; and The Weizmann Institute of Science. Formerly, she served as a two-term Governor for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; on the boards of the Caucus For Producers, Writers and Directors; Women In Film; Women in Cable and Telecommunications; and as a chair of Women In Film International. She is a Co-Founder of The Media Office For Employment of the Disabled. She was Co-Founder and for 7 years Co-Chair of the Lucy Awards for Women In Film. For 24 years, she has been co-hosting a monthly networking luncheon for established women in all areas of communications - - to date, over 9,000 women have attended.

She is President of her family’s charitable foundation, The Leonard and Isabelle Goldenson Association.

Arbus has been recognized by numerous organizations for her philanthropic contributions and professional accomplishments. A partial list of Awards / Achievements include: The Heart of Giving Award presented by President Bill Clinton at A Family Celebration 2001, Inc.; the Women of Action Award presented by the Israel Cancer Research Fund; the Disability Awareness Award presented by The California Governor’s Committee for Employment of Disabled Persons; the Woman of Achievement Award presented by the Friends of Sheba Medical Center; the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences; the Headliner Award presented by Women In Communications, Inc.; she was chosen as one (of 40) Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World 2002 - - the 5 th Annual Event was held in Paris, France.

Loreen is also a foremost Argentine Tango dancer, choreographer and teacher, trained in Argentina. She teaches in Los Angeles and across the nation, and has performed in Europe, Japan, Latin America and Canada. She and her dance partner, Alberto Toledano, are the stars, choreographers, and producers of the critically acclaimed show, featuring a cast of twelve, RITMO TANGO ä , the first and only theatrical touring presentation of Argentine Tango to originate in the United States.
