Excellence in Advertising Management Genii
Alicia Nelson
Executive VP/Media Director
US International Media
http://usintlmedia.com/
Alicia Nelson has been an involved intricately in the broadcast business in Los Angeles for many years in many capacities. Most of those involved Dennis Holt, for whom she worked at Western International Media since 1976. In fact, she retired from Initiative Media in 2003 and somehow became employee #1 at U.S. International Media, a small Dennis Holt start-up (which is now the fastest growing media agency in the country.) It is no surprise. Both Holt’s and Nelson’s leadership have earned the agency both a local and national reputation for its effectiveness in the marketplace, its emphasis on client service and its unique culture.
As EVP-Media Director, Alicia is a highly involved strategic and cultural leader (she leads by example and always has) and a major driving force behind the growth of U.S. International Media. Nelson has helped grow the agency to 30+ people and substantial billings despite one of the most challenging climates the marketing industry has ever known. She attracts the best, media negotiators in the industry to work for her. She literally has saved her clients millions of dollars due to her negotiating skills over the years.
She knows well the positions she hires for: she worked in them all. From sales assistant at a local radio station to assistant buyer to a senior broadcast negotiator to EVP of Client Services at the largest Media Management Corporation in the country. Alicia has managed broadcast brands from 7-UP to Albertsons-Sav-On to Chevrolet to Acura. She launched UPN and Yahoo.
Alicia Nelson is a true friend to the industry; to her employees and to her station and network representatives, most of whom she has known for 10-20-even 30 years.
She is a very proud mother of Marine Lt. Christopher Nelson, currently serving in Iraq. She resides with friendly , fluffy Murphy-the-cat in Marina del Rey.
